Kahramanmaraş
Kahramanmaraş is known for its stretchy, pounded mastic ice cream, its tarhana and its chilli flakes. The hilltop castle, the Roman-era mosaics of Germanicia and the highland plateaus of Göksun and Andırın are its sights. The area was affected by the 2023 earthquakes centred on Kahramanmaraş and some sites may be under repair; check whether they are open before you go.
