Doğanşar is Sivas's least populous district, surrounded by Hafik, Koyulhisar, Zara and Tokat's Almus district. The Yeşilırmak river and Dipsiz Lake lie within its borders, and it is known for the Ottoman- and Seljuk-era Yeni Camii and Ulu Camii mosques and for the Ahmet Ayık Karakucak wrestling and honey festival held in July.
