According to the Greek inscription over its western door, the building at Kuruköprü was erected as a church by the Greek Orthodox community in 1845. Adana's antiquities museum, founded in 1924 to display the region's archaeological finds, moved into the building in 1950 and it also served for a time as an ethnography museum. Visiting conditions may have changed since the 2023 earthquakes; check before you go.
