Kozan Castle was built in the 12th century by the Artuqid ruler Fahrettin Karaaslan and later served as the citadel of Sis, capital of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. The inner castle is enclosed by a 400-metre wall and contains wells, cisterns and dungeons. Also used as a military base under the Ottomans, it now hosts concerts and theatre performances in summer.
