The Zonguldak Mining Museum and Coal Experience Mine opened on 9 December 2016 as Türkiye's first mining museum. Built on a 7,000 square-metre site, the museum documents hard coal extraction in Zonguldak since the 1830s and the social and economic impact of mining. A 700-metre gallery, previously used as a training mine, has been turned into an experience area where visitors descend underground via an elevator simulation.
