Fırfırlı Mosque stands on Vali Fuat Street in the city centre. Built of cut stone in a three-aisled basilical plan, it is originally known as the Church of the Twelve Apostles (Church of the Holy Apostles). Its exact construction date is unknown, and it was converted into a mosque in 1956. In the Ottoman period it became popularly known as 'Fırfırlı' because of wind-vane-like decorations on the building.
