A 12-arched historic bridge built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian.

Built in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian I over the Çark stream flowing from Lake Sapanca, the bridge, 365 metres long with 12 arches, was an important engineering work of its time. Traces of a monumental gate at its western end and the remains of an apsidal structure at its eastern end survive today; it was added to UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List in 2018.
