Korgan is an inland district of Ordu; it was conquered by Danışmend Gazi in 1083, later came under Seljuk rule and was incorporated into Ottoman territory under Yıldırım Bayezid in 1398. Besides hazelnut production, dairy processing has also grown in recent years.
