Gülnar

Gülnar is a district of Mersin on the Taşeli Plateau in the southwest of the province, 32 km inland at 950 m elevation. It is known for viticulture, fruit growing and hand-woven carpets and kilims; the settlement's history goes back to the Hittite period, and it was taken into Ottoman territory in 1461.
