Doğanyol

Doğanyol, 90 km from Malatya's provincial centre, is a small district with Pütürge to its west and Elazığ's Sivrice district to its north. Formerly known as Keferdiz, it took its present name in 1963 and became a district in 1990 after separating from Pütürge. Apricot growing is the district's main source of income, and strawberry and pomegranate production is also increasing. The Karakaya reservoir within its boundaries provides irrigation water.
