On the western shore of the Kapulukaya reservoir on the Kızılırmak river, the park was declared a nature park in 2009. Among steppe vegetation it has picnic areas, walking paths and shores suited to angling. The reservoir is also home to the endangered Eurasian otter, and the area is good for birdwatching.
