Tosya

Tosya lies on a plain between the Ilgaz and Kös mountains and has a history of roughly 4,000 years; in Hittite times it was known as 'Tarittara'. Tosya rice, one of Türkiye's best-known rice varieties, is the district's main source of income; wooden door and window manufacturing, and the Tosya shawl and knife, are also well known.
