Kazımkarabekir lies 24 km from Karaman and 76 km from Konya, on the D-715 highway. It gained district status in 1989 when Karaman became a province; its houses are built from stone quarried locally. It is named after Kâzım Karabekir Pasha, whose father Mehmet Emin Pasha had ties to the area.
