The acropolis on the hill above Bergama was the centre of Pergamon, one of the key Hellenistic kingdoms. One of the steepest ancient theatres in Anatolia, the Temple of Trajan and the remains of the famous library are here. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014.
