Founded in 1491 by İskender Pasha, the beylerbeyi of the time, on his own land, the lodge remained active until 1925. Its octagonal semahane hall, rebuilt in 18th-century Baroque style after a fire in the reign of Sultan Mustafa III, has been a museum since 1975, displaying Turkish musical instruments and manuscripts related to Mevlevi culture.
