Öşvank Church stands in the village of Çamlıyamaç in Uzundere. It was built between 963 and 973 by Magistros Bagrat during the reign of the Georgian Bagratid dynasty, designed by the architect Öşkili Grigor. Dedicated to John the Baptist, its dome was repaired between 1022 and 1028 by the Byzantine emperors Basil II and Constantine VIII. It is known for the colourful stone decoration and relief figures on its south facade.
