Built over the Kızılırmak between 1484 and 1489 on the order of Sultan Bayezid II, the 250 m bridge with its 19 pointed stone arches is known as the longest stone bridge built in Anatolia during Ottoman rule. Arches that had become buried by riverbank sediment over time were uncovered again during a restoration that began in 2014.
