Created in the 13th century BCE in a rocky valley, Yazılıkaya consists of two open-air sacred chambers. Chamber A's 66 reliefs, arranged in two rows, depict a procession of deities from the Hittite pantheon as well as Hurrian, Luwian and neighbouring cultures; winged, lion-headed figures on either side of the entrance appear to guard the site.
