Karacabey, 70 km west of Bursa, lies north of Lake Uluabat. The Ulu Mosque, built for Sultan Murad I, and the Ottoman-era Issız Han are its historic buildings; the Karacabey floodplain forest, one of Türkiye's four such forests, and Ayvaini Cave are its natural areas. Mihaliç (Mağlıç) cheese is a product specific to the district.
