Kuyucak

Kuyucak lies east of Aydın and its economy rests on farming and livestock. It is known as the source of the 'ilek' fig, used to pollinate other fig trees; the valley produces cotton, oranges, figs and olives, while higher ground yields chestnuts, walnuts and cherries. It is the setting of Sabahattin Ali's novel 'Kuyucaklı Yusuf'.
