Yusufeli is known for the reservoir of the Yusufeli Dam, Türkiye's highest dam, on the Çoruh river, and for the Dört Kilise (Otkha Eklesia) monastery at Tekkale, now surrounded by the reservoir; it is also one of the starting points for climbs into the Kaçkar Mountains.
