Dolishane Church, in Hamamlı village in Artvin's central district, was built for the Bagratid king Sumbath by the architect Gabriel, according to its inscriptions. Used as a monastery until the 14th century, it was partly converted into a mosque in the 16th century, and only the church itself survives today. Measuring 20.20 by 13.20 metres externally on an east-west rectangular plan with a free-cross plan inside, it took its present form after a partial repair in 1958.
