Emirdağ

Emirdağ is a large district in northeastern Afyonkarahisar, at the meeting point of the Aegean and Central Anatolian regions. The ruins of the Byzantine city of Amorium, destroyed in 838, the 1750 Çarşı Mosque with its wooden pillars, and the Dandindere reserve protecting cedar forest are its main sights. Mercimekli bükme (a lentil pastry) and Emirdağ güveci (a stew) are among the local dishes.
