Perre, in the Örenli (Pirin) neighbourhood 5 km from central Adıyaman, was built on the natural rock of a hill. Excavations have uncovered rock-cut tombs, chambers carved into the bedrock, a Roman fountain and an extensive necropolis; digging has continued since 2009.
